We are what we eat.
Norway is well known for its clean air, clean land, and clean waters. By letting our pigs roam in the woods and eat a healthy and natural diet, we believe that they live happier and healthier. Our pigs eat whatever nature provides. And of course, they eat a lot of wild blueberries. This berry, growing wild all over Norway, is especially rich in antioxidants, which can delay some types of cell damage in our bodies.
The Rules of what makes a Blueberry Pig
All of our animals and outland are pesticide, GMO, and antibiotics free.
Born free
The pigs shall roam free in Norwegian Outfield land with a vegetation that consists of plenty of wild blueberry heather.
Season
A substantial part of the feed for the pigs is going to be blueberries, heather, grass, mushrooms, herbs etc. Therefore, it will only be possible to breed them for the period of May until October
Breed
The pigs will be Hampshire breed or a mixed breed of Hampshire and Norwegian country pig.
Food and shelter
Being outside and using their muscles, the pigs need to be fed grain as a supplement to their natural wild diet. They are also required access to shelter for the weather.
